Mozambique Freediving - Twice world record holder Trevor Hutton is based with Extreme Sports Cafe in Mozambique preparing for next years championships and he offers the most comprehensive freediving course for people of all abilities - from novice snorkelers to experienced spearfishermen, everyone can benefit from the techniques and experience he has to share. Perfect also for children who learn exciting and valuable lessons that will prepare them for a lifetime around water.

Mozambique Scuba Diving - Perfect for macro photographers: Year round we have frequent sightings of unusual and photogenic critters - seahorses, frogfish, Mauritian and paper scorpions, ghost pipefish, seamoths, plenty of lionfish of various species, Harlequin shrimps and ribbon eels. Summer months yield the gamefish - barracuda, kingfish, sailfish and wahoo, although not in the abundance found in the South of Mozambique. The Winter months of Aug-Oct bring the Humpback whales right into the bay where they can be seen and heard from the Aframes, beach and restaurant, or even closer from a boat trip. Sunfish (mola mola) move up from the deep of one reef in the months of May-July. Dolphins are often sighted. There are no sharks or other large pelagics in the bay.

Helicopter Skydiving. Pretty wicked stuff! Well we now have regular helicopter skydive trips in Switzerland..

Extreme Sports Café is now pleased to offer Heli-Skydiving Packages for groups of 10- 15 in the Swiss Alps. The jumps are done over a super landscape and are certainly more rewarding than jumping the whole day over a normal airfield.

Extreme Sports Cafe has just opened it's next new Kitesurfing school in Mauritius. We've now lost count of Thom many kiteboarding / kitesurfing and windsurfing schools we have all over the globe... Check out our Course Directory page and our Kitesurfing Locations page to see what we offer on the kitesurfing, windsurfing and all other extreme sports - worldwide.

We are also about to go through a site revamp.. So if all else fails (while we are still skydiving and freediving and doing our extreme stuff this season in Europe) then please use the sitemap to check out extreme sports that are up and coming in our portfolio, and have not yet been integrated properly into the site!!! Sorry, but we are just so busy this season we have let the site slip a bit!

We will also be launching a new Extreme Sports Cafe online booking system and store in the European winter season, so if you end up at a store you don't recognise from the last time and are asked for your details again, don't fret.. We are integrating you into our new extreme sports database so we can serve you even better extreme sports dishes over the coming months and years..

Extreme Sports Cafe is proud to announce the opening of it's two new paramotoring schools. One in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and the second in Australia. This will compliment our paramotor and paragliding schools already in the UK, Cyprus, Spain and Thailand. The Kuala Lumpur Paramotoring school is open now, and the Australian Paramotoring school will open later this month. Details coming soon.

Later this year both the Australian Paramotor school and our Paramotoring school in Malaysia will also offer Paragliding.

Snowkiting in South America... Whether you ski, snowboard, kitesurf or haven't tried any of these exciting extreme sports, its time to enter a whole new world, grab some snowy air and fire across the flat bits at mad speeds. Its a great option for all you kite surfers out there facing the long cold winter months.

Kite boarding is getting everywhere these days and the snow bound mountains of Europe are no exception. If you can ski or snowboard then attaching a kite will add a whole new dimension to your sport - UP!

Our snowkiting course is structured to take you through some of the theory and safety including kite set up and pack-down procedures. After that you'll be on to those first powered snowkite runs on your board or skis.

Extreme Sports Cafe is proud to announce a new range of Wakeboarding courses and new centers. Initially these will be in Thailand, but wakeboarding centers in Europe, Australia and the US will soon come online...

Wakeboarding is an interesting and exciting water sport. If you are bored of swimming, doing nothing and you want to do something spectacular, learn wake boarding! This is the extreme sport, combining style and fun. It allows wakeboarders to express themselves by coming up with their own wakeboarding styles. It is also a great sport for Kitesurfers when the wind is not favorable for kitesurfing. There is certainly room for innovation and creativity for wakeboarders. Therefore, wake boarding is bound to evolve and continue to grow in the coming years.

Wakeboarding is a relatively new boardsport, created from a combination of water skiing, snow boarding and surfing techniques.

Extreme Sports Cafe announces plans to open a new branch of their bar / cafe concept on Koh Phangan in Thailand. There will also be a range of extreme sports that they will offer to people holidaying on the Island including Kite surfing, Para-sports, Scuba and Freediving to mention just a few... Extreme Sports Cafe will also be offering trips to Koh Samui and other renowned places in that area for extreme sports activities.. To complete this exciting new development Extreme Sports Cafe will also offer bungalows on Koh Phangan for people staying there for the famous Full Moon Party, Half Moon Party and Black Moon Parties, as well as for those taking part in courses, experiences and holidays offered by Extreme Sports Cafe and others...

Development will start in 2005 and be completed by the end of this year... Contact us for more info or if you would like to invest in part of the project.

If relaxing in the sun, or in the shade, is your heart's desire, there is ample opportunity.  You'll find lounge chairs by the pools in Bangkok and Prachuap, and on the stunning grounds and beaches of the Sofitel Hua Hin.

The aerial fun starts at the sea-side DZ in Prachuap, where 20 jumps will be included in the Thai Sky Festival package. At least one C-130 Hercules and BT-67 will be on site (other aircraft - TBA).

Not really extreme sports news this... But it seems worth a mention as it is just across the way from our new offices in Bangkok. We are not far from IMPACT Arena and the site of the new international hotel complex for Nonthaburi. Whitney Houston played here not long ago. Well the view above is from our office balcony and you can be sure that all of our staff will be stopping off on the way home to try out some of those rides....

Congratulations to Lee Payne for his fantastic dash across Europe in this years Canonball Run.

Lee survived to the end, and so did his car even without back brakes for most of the race, a blown tire and bits of bumper and exhaust coming off when he decided to jump a bridge! Nice one Lee! The attrition during the race was fantastic. Only 12 cars finished, the rest either crashing or being impounded with their drivers in police custody! The winner 'cheated' Lee out of first place at the very end, but then how do you complain when the whole race is illegal!

Extreme Sports Cafe, among others, sponsored Lee. Donations to Great Ormand Street Hospital and 'Help a London Child' were the worthy causes Lee chose.

More information is available on the official site and on Top Gear, Channel 5 and The Extreme Sports Channel later this year... There will also be a DVD out in due course.

4th October 2002 - C.P.C.B Drop Zone, Empuria Brava, Spain.

Team Flying Dodo (sponsored by Flying Dodo Clothing Ltd. and Extreme Sports Cafe) went to the C.P.C.B in Empuria Brava last week to continue their training programme with a view to enter the Babylon Film Festival next Easter. They also met, and jumped, with some of the competitors entering the World Games at C.P.C.B starting this week, enabling them to gauge the competition.

Who are Flying Dodo, anyway?

With their business heads on the staff of ESC were able to promote Extreme Sports Cafe and tie up some very exciting new opportunities for a wide range of Extreme Sports Activities in Spain & Norway. News on those will appear in these pages over the coming weeks... But expect multi-activity weeks for all extreme sports and specifically Balloon, Helicopter and Big Way Coaching for Sky Divers.

Congratulations to Tanya Streeter!

No Limits Freediving World Champion!

Multiple World Record holder and World Champion Freediver Tanya Streeter has just set a new World Record on the small Caribbean island of Providenciales, Turks & Caicos.
On August 19th she planned to set a new World Record in the No Limits discipline of Freediving to a depth of 140m/460ft - at least! Tanya rode a weighted sled down a descent rope and returned to the surface carried by an inflated liftbag in approximately 3 minutes. She actually achieved a depth of 525ft, eclipsing both the men's world record of 505ft and the women's record of 446ft.
